It's been a while!

Dear Bloggers!

My oh my has it been a while! Shortly, after moving to Kansas we received news that my husband, Greg, was to deploy, and that I was expecting! Busy time for us- then the holidays came and Evelyn had her 2nd birthday; and well, my blog literally got kicked to the curb for a while. BUT I am back and ready to start the new year off blogging again.

I thought I would share what I have been up too while being stuck at home in this very cold Kansas winter weather. You are in luck, as I have some before and after pictures to post for you. Today, I am going to show you our bedroom. It was a challenge right from the get go. The room as awkward and there were windows in the wrong places. For the most part I am thrilled with the results. I say for the most part, because there are a few things that still need to be done. I am looking for some white tiered shades for my milk glass antique bedside lamps, I am waiting for a wing-backed chair to be upholstered, and I am looking for some old barn wood to make a headboard out of.

This is Before:

As you can see the walls were a dark green and were textured. I took down the curtain valances.

After:
But, for now- this is what it looks like:

Antique mirror- I repainted. Target pitcher

Love this bird picture- my best friend found it for me while out shopping one day.

Anthorpologie Letter Stands, milk glass lamps $20 for both,
Greg's grandfather's side tables,
wall finials with milk bottles on them (finials- $20 for both/ bottles $5 each)
Antique Floral Prints in $5 frames.

The waiting baby bassinette...

Cowskin rug...my spluge.

Ikat fabric: $10 for 2 yards and Target body pillow
Once I have the "finishing" touches (like the headboard, chair, and proper lamp shades), I will repost a picture. My inspiration was from Lauren over at
She is such an AMAZING designer- and I have "used" several of her original ideas throughout my home. I will be posting pictures for you see later on. Hope you enjoyed my bedroom makeover...
~Cheers, and stay warm!!!
