Oops! No nap today!

So sorry that I do not have any new pictures to share with you all of our current project. It is taking much longer than I had anticipated! It doesn't help when your one year old decides not take a nap today either (oops).  I have not had time to get much done in the room today and over the weekend. Evelyn has been in a "no napping mood" as of lately. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is just a short stage and not the beginning of no naps! I am planning on working tonight after E goes down for the evening and hope that I can make some progress.   I hope to have some pretty pictures to show you all tomorrow!

Although this is not my Evelyn; it's pretty close to how she felt about napping today ;) Happy Monday everyone~ Melissa

Searching for curtain rods

I am almost finished with the lounge; in fact everything is done- except I am still waiting for a few items to still be delivered. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will be delivered today or tomorrow.  However, I still need to find curtain rods, a rug, and bed linens.

Today, Evelyn and I are going to hit a few of the local antique stores in the area...who knows what treasures we might find! Although, I really need to be selective on my "treasure hunting;" as I have already accumulated a nice large pile of past "treasures" in the garage that are waiting to be sold at a future yard sale.

I will let you all know what Evelyn and I discover while we are out today. I am hoping that by Monday I will have new pictures of the lounge to show you. Have a great weekend everyone!

~Cheers,
Melissa

The birth of a new blog!

Well this is it! I am finely branching out in to the blog world. I am so very excited to be doing this. I don't know much about blogging; except that there are some VERY talented people out there. I will not even try to indulge you in saying that I am one of the elite. I am, however, a "newbe" and will be posting new projects that I am doing around our home. I am hoping that I can post a new project a week.

We recently moved to Manhattan, Kansas about three weeks ago; as we will not be here for very long, we decided to rent instead of taking the plunge into the housing market. Although my hands are tied with just how much "reno" I can actually do; I will be taking on each room in "our" 70s split-level home.

The first room that I decided to do was the lounge/guest room. The pictures I am posting right now are of the before. I am hoping that I can knock it out this weekend! Wish me luck- I will be posting new pictures on Monday of the "after."
